Northern Canine Therapy Centre, is the latest addition to the largest multi-species rehabilitation and performance conditioning centre in the North of England.

We specialise in canine hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and multiple laser treatments practicing under the accredited governing body, IRVAP.

What is Canine Hydrotherapy?

Canine Hydrotherapy is form of therapeutic exercise carried out in warm water. The properties of the water allow the dog to exercise in partial or completely non- weight bearing environment. It uses almost every muscle in the body whilst placing no undue pressure on the joints.

Treatment can be directed at chronic conditions, post operative recovery, pre-operative or general fitness. The stabilising and buoyancy effects of water allow remobilisation of the joints, which may not be possible when weight bearing out of water.

Muscle wastage begins within 3 days of immobilisation, therefore hydrotherapy helps prevents further weakness or injury through safe exercise.

OUR CUSTOMERS

"5 star service in every way, Pretzel (my terrier) has been swimming with Evie since she was old enough to go out. Evie has been so patient and encouraging to her and she now happily swims in the pool and out in the rivers. Swimming is so good for the dog’s general fitness and condition."
